Royal Ascot - founded in 1711 by Queen Anne, is the world's most famous racecourse.
The course hosts many top races, including the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, The Festival, and of course the Royal Meeting, probably the most vaunted of racing events in the world, offering four days of equine excellence - simply the best in the racing year.
Royal Ascot is an international occasion of fashion and style, and dress codes apply. In the new Grandstand, opened in 2006, gentlemen must wear a jacket & tie. Most ladies wear hats, but this is not obligatory.
The highlight on each day of the Royal Meeting is the Royal Procession at 2 p.m.
Ramada Hotel & Resort Newbury - Situated just west of the market town of Newbury, the Ramada Hotel & Resort Elcot Park is an elegant country house, set in 16 acres of garden and woodland, yet only minutes from the M4 & A34.
The hotel's Orangery Restaurant, with views over the Kennet Valley, offers fine international cuisine.
The Sebastian Coe Health Club has a pool, spa, sauna, steam room, solarium and fitness suite.
Your bedroom and en-suite bathroom contains all the facilities and comforts that you would reasonably expect from a 4* hotel.
Our journey from the hotel to Ascot is via the M4 from Junction 13, and the M329 to Bracknell. (Please be aware that traffic is very heavy to/from Ascot on Ladies Day, and the non-motorway part of this journey around Ascot can be very slow)
